Today I had a fun day baking up some love letters! Do you ever write letters anymore? Does anyone you know? I thought this was a fun twist on a letter, and while they won’t last as long as a letter in a drawer, they should still bring some serious joy to the recipient!

These were simple and easy to do, just like writing a letter should be! I suppose they’d make you a little fatter than a letter, but I don’t think anyone would complain, do you? You can make these by cutting and baking a rectangle cookie, and then flooding it with white royal icing. Once that has set, all you need to do is make a deep ‘v’ shape with icing using a bag with #1 tip, and then draw two lines extending to the bottom corners. Once that’s had about twenty minutes to firm up a bit, go in with your choice of heart color in a #2 tip and draw your heart right below the bottom of the ‘v’ shape. Easy-peasey!
Have you all been thinking about what you might like for Christmas if you’re very, very good? I definitely have been. For years, I have been dying for the KitchenAid stand mixer that literally 90% of the planet has, but I don’t. Can you believe it? All the baking I do, and I use a KitchenAid hand mixer of all of it! And I amĀ not knocking that thing, it is utterly dependable and I can make everything from cookies to bread with it. I’d never part with the little guy, but sometimes I’d really like to step up into the world of real power- or at least, power I can walk away from and it keeps on mixing for me. So if you’re reading this, Santa, don’t say I never ask for anything! Incidentally, you can check out my reliable little hand mixer here on Amazon!
This week, I am planning lots of Christmas crafts to do with my girls. Yes, its early in the season for it, but we need to get a care package out to their Dad that will arrive at just the right time. If I have any great successes, I’ll be sure to share them with you!
