I’m back! I told you all that if my girls and I had any serious successes with our crafting adventures, that I would share them with you! Well, we have had a success or two, I am proud to report. Today I’m going to share with you my favorite of the bunch, our Christmas lights thumbprint canvas!

Because I’m all about easy crafts, I can promise that this one won’t be a day-ruiner. All you need is a canvas, some kid-friendly fingerpaint, and a sharpie! You’ll want a pack like the one I’ve linked if you want to make your picture extra-colorful. My girls are all about the color!
Step 1: Draw a dark line around the canvas, making sure to make several loops but leaving enough space for little fingerprints.
Step 2: Have your little helper(s) press their fingers into the pain and then onto the canvas. I found it helpful to do all of one color at at a time, and then go back in and fill with the other colors.
Step 3: Allow the paint to dry, and then use your Sharpie to draw little squiggles at the base of each ‘light’ and then have your artists sign their work!
See, I told you it was easy! This is a great gift to mail, as well. The canvases that I’ve linked above are flat, rather than the kind with the thick, paintable edge. That means that while they are super sturdy, they also fit into envelope mailers instead of priority mail boxes! We’ve all got better things to spend money on this time of year than postage, right?
